Dear Tumblrites,

I need your vote!  The first chapter of my book has been published on Jukepop Serials. But in order for me to parlay that into any sort of clout with the publishing industry, I have to show that I was able to generate interest.

You don’t have to read the chapter. All you have to do is scroll down to the very end and click the “vote” button. It will ask you to create an account. You can bypass this by signing in with your facebook (the app won’t post anything to your wall and you can delete it right after you vote if you like).  Or you can create an account (username and password, no personal info.).  ALL OF THIS IS COMPLETELY FREE.

Right now my story is the top 150.  In order to break into the top 50, I need at least 90 more votes.  **Click here to vote**

Most of you know how much this book means to me, and how much I will appreciate the time it will take you to cast your vote.  You will basically own a piece of my soul.  From the non-tarnished end.

Thank you so much for your help!  If you can reblog this and help me get the word out as well, I would be very grateful.

Love and facehugs!!

Claudia

Reblogging for the evening crew.

Thanks so much to everyone who already voted and reblogged. My story has moved up to the top 80.  Fifty more votes will put me in the top 50.  Fifty for 50.  :)

Love, as always.

Whoa!  I have been out of touch.  Incommunicada.  Out of sight and out of mind.
I had a baby, and nobody ever told me that high-anxiety people and babies are a recipe for big-time sleeplessness and stress.  Oh, and zero crochet time.  None!  But, little by little, I have been making my way back.
I started off slow.  While browsing through Pinterest, I got the idea to make bookmarks to give to all of the people on my Xmas shopping list.  The Pinterest post used lengths of ribbon to make the bookmarks, but I decided to take it one step further and crochet a piece of lace using some merino wool thread in holiday red.
Crocheting lace makes me feel like an Austen heroine.  I love it!
I crocheted a 9” length of lace, then blocked it to make it nice and even.  Then I attached a ribbon clamp on either end.  (I bought my ribbon clamps from another Etsy seller, TwilightsFancy.  She has different colors but I’ve always been partial to silver.)  Finally, I attached some embellishments, which I suppose you can buy at a craft store, but I chose to dismantle some jewelry I owned because I’m short on funds and because babies and jewelry don’t mix so I never wear any anymore.
You can see the finished product here.  All in all, it took about an hour to crochet the lace and one overnight for blocking, then another hour to add the clamps and danglies.  If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a fanmail.  If you decide to give it a go, I’d love to see your finished work!
Happy Holidays!
